Homes 1 is the new management company which encompasses Como Construction Company and Homes of Melbourne. The establishment of Homes 1 will allow for expansion of the business beyond Melbourne and Victoria. Homes 1 will essentially present a one-stop shop for clients looking to build a new home, whether they have the land already or not and whether they wish to build in Melbourne or beyond.

Layby your home

For many people the only thing stopping them owning their own home is putting the initial deposit together. Homes 1 has a fantastic layby plan to help you save your deposit and get started with owning your own home.

How the layby works:

The layby plan allows you to save while we build your new home.

You start by paying us a small initial deposit and then save a minimum of $150 per week, which you deposit with us each week. The plan takes 30 weeks minimum and after that time you will have completed your program of saving your deposit and your house is ready to move into.

An example of how it works:

House + land + legals allowance: $250,000

Deposit: $15,000

Borrow from the Bank $235,000

You might pay an initial deposit of $2,000

Save $200 per week x 30 weeks = 6,000

First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) 7,000

Total deposit $15,000
